OVS - Novel Update - Stay on Target...
I have finally caught up with my word count target and am still going strong! I've averaged 3,000 words a day over the last four days to do this.
I am hoping to make 40K words by the close of Sunday, then I'm going to go for 2K a day to finish Friday with a very busy weekend being used only in case of emergency.
The book won't have a finished draft by then of course, but I will have achieved my goal of 50K words, complete Nanowrimo and a huge portion of the work done on it.
My current plan is to do this every year, finishing a book towards the end of the year and editing over the start of the next. Then repeat. I think, judging on past writing experience I can manage this if I don't get too distracted (ah, there's always a catch). But that should leave me free to still write one or two OVS comics a year as well as fit in some game design (got my 2009 game planned already). It sounds good, and sustainable with my new full time job, as long as I don't plan to start learning to play the ukulele!
