Have you seen or heard a reference to Hawk the Slayer in films, magazines, TV or radio? If so, this is the place to record it for posterity. It doesn't have to be all positive, sometimes we know that Hawk the Slayer is misunderstood by people :)
--/12/07 TV listing (unknown magazine): Hawk the Slayer, Saturday 22 December 12:55am - 2:25am, BBC2.
It's not so much swords and sorcery as rubber rapiers and woeful witchcraft in this banal Arthurian fantasy that sees good brother John
Terry battle with bad brother Jack Palance for possession of a mystic blade. Gimmicky direction by Terry Marcel can't hide the low budget of this production, though Palance - once described by the late Dilys Powell as having the face of King Cobra - hisses and vows vengeance as though he were in a movie worthy of his venomous talents. It's about as far removed from Excalibur as you can get.
16/05/08 BBC Radio 5: Recently the film came up on Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode's film review section when the subject of scary children's films was mentioned. Simon Mayo: Dave in Liverpool "As a kid I was terrified by Hawk the Player (sic) with Jack Palance as Voltar (sic)".
