Dirk Despair

Dirk Despair is the tale of a severely depressed space hero who doesn't want to save the galaxy, but his girlfriend makes him do it. For him apathy is more than merely a lifestyle choice. Some are born to despair, some achieve despair, while others have despair thrust upon them. But Dirk simply is despair.

It was also the only real strip I got anywhere with while at university, putting out a handful of crudely drawn one page strips (see below). The strip is currently (much better) drawn by Ian Stacey, though many other artists have attempted to drawn Dirk Despair, and failed, Ian is surprisingly resistant to the Despair.
