Rathbone and the Last of the Organic Wars

Rathbone is an exiled robotic senator from a distant future, where the galaxies organic creatures' war with the machines ended in their total defeat. His military career now thousands of years in the past, he lives in exile, alone on a desolate boneyard. Graveyard's for the organic dead. Rathbone has had time to reflect on the war and his part in it, but little does he realise that the last of the organic wars is about to begin.

The story was one I was working on while at sixth form back in the 1980's. It's possible that I might have finished it if I hadn't gone to university, but it was already going quite slowly. I've been lucky enough to use Omnivistascope to revive Rathbone, and with the basic concept and heavily rewritten storyline, I hope to complete it at last.

Comic Strips

Rathbone appeared in Omnivistascope issues 2-3 under artist Duncan Nimmo and a new adventure is currently being drawn by another fine artist.
