A frantic gun fighting Wild West
card game, set in a doomed town.
Player's Comments: "Easy to learn, and incredibly fun to play. Despite everyone being very tired and ready for bed after a busy week and a full weekend of gaming, everyone wanted to play just one more game. I've downloaded dozens of print 'n' play games over the last couple of years and this is simply the best." Dirk Holding.
Background: Destiny, Arizona. Filo Frederick Freeman is the devilish lawyer at the heart of Destiny, where many a man has met an unpleasant end. Here you'll find thieves, murderers, gamblers and drunkards all out to make a quick buck. But the tragedy is that few of them leave, bound by their debts to both Filo and Destiny. The town is violent and bloody, a doomed town. As the guns blaze and the blood spills, the clock is ticking and soon the sands will come and take its occupants to hell. You are a gunfighter in Destiny, just trying to stay alive to make the last coach out of town.
The Game: Each player takes on a character from the doomed town, choosing from one of 10 characters, each with their own special rule. Their all too few options are represented by a hand of cards. Gunfighters trade shots against each other, shooting and dodging bullets. Weighing up their options and trying to avoid a grisly fate in Destiny, they must avoid the worst that their fellow gunfighters and the town can throw at them. A gunfighter may dash for cover, employ a hired gun to do his dirty work or have the hand of fate upon their shoulders. Anything that can go wrong, will. From stampedes to being left holding the dynamite. As Gunfighter's fall dead into the dirt, the townsfolk of Destiny are partial to joining in. With uneasy silences taking their toll on the player's nerves, it can only end one way. Only one gunfighter can walk away. Will it be you?

Designer's Notes: Destiny is the first game I managed to produce a finished playable version of. The game evolved through a simple real time game, went through a nightmarishly complex phase (thankfully long gone) and finally was whittled down into the fun fast-paced game it is today. It's taken a long time to get it this far and as such part of me will always worry it's not quite finished. But is a very playable game. The game also features exceptional card art by professional artist Adrian Bamforth which adds a great atmosphere to the town of Destiny.
Designer's Comments
Luck vs. Skill: Strong element of luck, but it can be deceptive. Choices you make really do effect the outcome.
Complexity: At heart a simple game, it has a wide variety of special one use cards, or 'aces'. You should understand all the basics of the game after one play.
Fun: A lot of fun, games should vary a lot and throw up some very entertaining situations.
