It seems like I've always read comics, and since 2003 I've been making my own. I started properly with Solar Wind, but my main project is currently Omnivistascope comic and I am looking to produce several one-shot comics over the next couple of years.
My first fully fledged comic strip was Nigel the Barbarian, wot I did while still at school, a one page strip where Nigel angered the gods and ended up being changed into a stick figure and nailed to the door of the lavatory of the gods. It had lots of daft computer magazine references (Crash! Zzap! Electron User! - 80's computer joke) some mild swearing and sadly does not survive. So please, Bodleian library, stop pestering me for it!
I tried to create several strips in my later teens such as Rathbone - The Last of the Organic Wars and A Fistful of Universes but my inability to draw lead me to a grinding halt by the time I got to university. That however didn't stop me from writing and drawing Dirk Despair, the depressed galactic hero (he didn't want to save the universe, but his girlfriend made him do it) which had a fan base of one and was wildly misunderstood by everyone else.
Since then the addiction has only worsened, I've edited and written for the National Comic Award winning (and Eagle Award nominated!) Solar Wind, the critically acclaimed Omnivistascope and I'm still waiting for the option money on Warlock Holmesin the Hood II - Esoteric Boogaloo.
I hope you'll take a look around and give my comics a try.
